In My Opinion: PPH Failing

Image
In My Opinion: Failing at Prince Philip Hospital My Dad went in for what should have been a simple endoscopy procedure, but due to confusion, the doctor dealing with him today had to chase another doctor elsewhere in the hospital. All patients note should be 100% clear so everyone concerned can see what's been done or needs to be done. The health board that runs Prince Philip Hospital, Hwyel Dda, needs to ensure this is addressed. It is a failing that has wasted time, time that could be spent getting down waiting lists. This hospital is due to have its hours slashed at it's Minor Injury Unit, which I feel is wrong.

Back at Tircoed

So after months of having Karl Burtonshaw trying to get me to start back at Swansea's only community radio station he has succeded! I'm back!  Karl is a very  persistant chap! I startted back on 20th April with my show, In The Groove , which airs on a Saturday evening between 6pm and 8pm, LIVE. If you have followed me for a while you will know what the show is all about, it remains that but with added extras, such as local content. Also on board at the station is Shaun Tilley, ex-Swansea Sound & The Wave plus BBC and other stations. He is a radio legend and someone I have been following the career of over time. He has big plans for the station, which, at time of typing this blog, is not public knowledge, so won't be put here until it is. I've been made part of the management team going forward, which is a massive honor for me, and shows that someone who is in the know in the radio world has faith in me. I've been a big part of Radio Tircoed's past. I was the...

Talking Point Food Love Vegi Bake

Image
After going to 3 Toby 's in the past week...  Monday: https:// www.tobycarvery.co.uk /restaurants/midlands/ quintonbirmingham #/ Wednesday:   https:// www.tobycarvery.co.uk /restaurants/wales/ thecockleshellswansea #/ Friday:   https:// www.tobycarvery.co.uk /restaurants/wales/ whitchurchcardiff #/   I decided to try to recreate something.... Just put together a vegetable bake. Part boiled some sliced potatoes and carrots, then into a creamy mushroom sauce added grated garlic and English mustard, shook it up.  Layered up the carrots and potatoes and put some of the sauce, put in a small tin of sweetcorn, more sauce, then the rest of the carrots and potatoes and the rest of the sauce. It's in the oven ready to bake later  It would go well with smoked haddock, smoked cod or the cheaper smoked white fish  Oh yes, Saturday Kitchen is on BBC One at 10am on Saturday! Photo will be here later! What dish have you tried to recreate from a restaurant?

Wales moves to alert level zero

Image
FROM THIS MORNING, 7th August 2021 :-  Wales has moved to Covid alert level zero, meaning social distancing rules and most other restrictions have now come to an end. PLEASE NOTE: This applies to everyone in Wales and all those from everywhere else who come in to Wales, with no exceptions! Almost 17 months after Wales' first lockdown, nightclubs are allowed to reopen and meeting indoors is permitted. Face masks are still required in most public indoor places, but not in pubs, restaurants or schools. T hey will still be needed on public transport  across Wales. From 6am on Saturday, August 7 many of the legal Covid requirements will be lifted.  This will include the fact that masks will no longer be required in hospitality settings. Social distancing is also no longer a requirement. But First Minister Mark Drakeford has warned against a "free-for-all". On a personal note, I would say to keep wearing masks in crowds, and with in large indoor gatherings eve...

Covid - Anti Body Test and Masks

Image
I was invited by the ZOE COVID-19 app to order a Covid anti-body test. I have the ZOE C-19 app on my phone and report how I am feeling on a daily basis as I am in their symptom study. The package arrived with lancets, a little test tube with lid and alcohol wipes. I followed the instructions, and filled the tube with blood from my middle finger. I packaged the tube up as requested and sent it off, I dropped it in to the Royal Mail Sorting Office Priority Post Box on Friday morning. I had an email on Sunday morning saying in the last six months it was unlikely that I have had Covid. Now, with restrictions easing in England from Monday morning, I was shocked to read about a selfish member of the Royals, which one I hear you ask, Prince Charles. If others follow his example then it will be clear that a huge number of people living in the UK are actually sheep that follow the flock and ONLY DO THINGS when told to. Everyone has a brain of their own, why on earth don't you use it?. Thi...
